At that time, D. Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, the main supporter of the project, held the presidency.In 1954, Sevilla FC held a competition for ideas for its construction, which was won by Manuel Muñoz Monasterio, who had raised years before the Santiago Bernabeu and Mestalla.
